The Copper Pack is a great confident sewist project. This sleek ergonomic design can be customized with hardware, such as spikes, rivets, or any other bag bling! There are also options for an inside zipper pocket, mesh slip pocket, device holder elastic, key lanyard, outer grommet, and inside lobster clasp. There are instructions on how to make it a G-tube Feed Pack, for those that need a G-tube Feed Pack, and instructions on how to make it a Hydration Pack, for those who want to stay hydrated during outings such as cycling and backpacking, or at events such as festivals! The Copper Pack is incredibly versatile and useful! The Copper Pack can hold up to 2L Hydration Bladder.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE COPPER PACK: (FABRIC, INTERFACING, and HARDWARE) 

* MATERIALS - 1/2 yard or 1/2 meter - Lightweight Denim, Quilting Cotton, Canvas, Cork or 0.7 mm Vinyl for the Exterior. 

* OPTIONAL: COORDINATING EXTERIOR - 1/8 yard or 1/8 meter – For the UNDERSIDE of the Top Padded Straps. As this is a high wear point, its recommended to use a Canvas/WPC/WRO, as they are tougher than Cotton Woven.

* MATERIALS - 1/2 yard or 1/2 meter - Cotton Woven or WPC/WRO for the Lining. 

* LIGHTWEIGHT INTERFACING- up to 1 yard or 1 meter - Pellon SF101 (or equivalent 120gsm: EBfuse, STIFI, etc.) If using Woven Cotton, Canvas, or Woven for Exterior.

* FUSIBLE FLEECE – 1/2 yard or 1/2 meter x 20” wide - If using Woven, Quilting Cotton, or Canvas for Exterior.

* FOAM – 24” x 20” 

* WEBBING - Up to 3 M of 1” (2.5 cm) wide Webbing

* ZIPPERS – 1 x 12.5” (32 cm) length of #5 zipper tape, at least 12.5” (32 cm) length of teeth, 

and 2 x #5 Zipper Pulls, for the Outside Main Zipper closure. 

-1 x 10” (25.5 cm) length of #5 zipper tape, at least 10” (25.5 cm) length of teeth, 

and 1 x #5 Zipper Pull, for the Inside Zipper Pocket closure.

* BIAS BINDING/FOE/CANVAS BINDING – up to 4 M of 1/2” (1.3 cm) wide Double Fold Bias Binding (2” (10 cm) when unfolded)/1” (2.5 cm) wide FOE/1” (2.5 cm) wide Canvas Binding, For Interior Bag Binding.

* BACKPACK LADDER SLIDERS – 2 x Backpack Ladder Sliders.

* OPTIONAL: STRAP ENDS – 2 OR 4 – 1” (2.5 cm) wide Strap Ends. 

* OPTIONAL: SPIKES/RIVETS – Decorative bag bling to make your Copper Pack POP!

* OPTIONAL: 1” D-RING – 1 OR 2 - 

* OPTIONAL: ROUND or ½” LOBSTER CLASP – Round OR 1/2” (1.3 cm) Lobster Clasp for the Key Lanyard.

* OPTIONAL: PARACORD OR BIAS BINDING– 33” (84 cm) of Paracord (or Elastic Paracord) OR 33” (84 cm) of 1/2” (1.3 cm) wide Double Folded Bias Binding, (sewn together) for a Key Lanyard.

* OPTIONAL: 1” SLIDE LOCK – 1 x 1” (2.5 cm) Slide Lock. For Front Closure Slide Lock. 

* OPTIONAL: 1” LOBSTER CLASP – 1 x 1” (2.5 cm) Lobster Clap. For the Top Lobster Clasp, to hold the Hydration Bladder or G-tube Feed Bag.

* OPTIONAL: 1 1/4” (3 cm) - 2” (2.5 cm) WIDE ELASTIC – 1 x 13” (33 cm) length of 1 1/4” (3 cm) - 2” (5 cm) wide Elastic Strap, to hold a Device or Hydration Bladder or G-tube Feed Bag.

* OPTIONAL: MESH SLIP POCKET - 1 - 13” (33cm) x 7” (17.8 cm) piece of Mesh, to hold the Hydration Bladder, G-tube Feed Bag/Pump, or just as a slip pocket.

* OPTIONAL: GROMMET OR RUBBER ACCESS GROMMET – 1 x Grommet OR Rubber Access Grommet. Use whatever size the tubing end fits through. For the Hydration Bladder I used a 1 ¼” (32 mm) Rubber Access Grommet. For the G-Tube Feed System, I used a 3/4” (19 mm) Screw in Grommet. 

* OPTIONAL: UP TO 2L HYDRATION BLADDER – These are readily available on Amazon. Just make sure its 2L or LESS. No bigger than a 13.8” (35 cm) tall Hydration Bladder.

-A 12" x 24" Cutting mat will be needed for the Copper Pack. (Back Body and Mesh Slip Pocket are not included with SVG’s)

The Copper Pack Pattern is drafted for use with domestic sewing machines. I have a Pfaff Quilt Expressions 710 and Pfaff Quilt Expression 3.5. I try to make things that don’t need an industrial machine, even though I have an industrial Juki-DDL8100 eH/x. The thickest layers sewn through when making the Copper Pack depends on the materials used. Test your machine with scraps of different materials to see what it can do! Please do not post full pictures of the pattern pieces on social media. There are detailed instructions for every technique, along with “TIPS” and plenty of photos.
