The Wolfsbane Zipper Pouch comes in FOUR Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Extra-Large:

 Small Finished Dimensions:

4” Tall, 5 1/2” Wide, 2 1/2” Deep

Medium Finished Dimensions:

5” Tall, 7” Wide, 3 1/4” Deep

Large Finished Dimensions:

6” Tall, 8 3/4” Wide, 4” Deep

The Wolfsbane Zipper Pouch is a great beginner project. The flat top makes it a fabulous pattern to learn zipper installation, and the basics for bag making. This simple classic design can be customized with exterior quilting, piecing, embroidery, or applique. Or just as is. The Wolfsbane Zipper Pouch is incredibly versatile and useful. Pack your belongings for a trip, a med bag, or just a fun pouch to put all the things!

Pattern is drafted for use with domestic sewing machines. There are detailed instructions for every technique, along with “TIPS” and plenty of photos.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE WOLFSBANE ZIPPER POUCH (FABRIC, INTERFACING, and HARDWARE):

·       EXTERIOR FABRIC – 1/2 yard/meter x 58” wide – Cotton Woven, Canvas, Cork, WPC (Water-Proof Canvas)/WRO (Water Resistant Oxford), Leather, or Vinyl for Exterior. (All 4 sizes can be cut from a 1/2-yard/18” roll of Vinyl)

·       LINING FABRIC - 1/2 yard/meter - Cotton Woven or WPC (Water-Proof Canvas)/WRO (Water Resistant Oxford) for Lining.

·       COORDINATING FABRIC – 1/4 yard/meter (or scraps!). If not using Webbing for Straps/Handles.

·       LIGHTWEIGHT WOVEN INTERFACING 120gsm- 1/2 yard/meter x 58” wide - Pellon SF101 (or equivalent 120gsm: EBfuse, STIFI, etc.) If using Cotton Woven or Canvas for the Exterior. If using raw edged materials like Cork/Vinyl/Leather for the Exterior, omit.

TIP: 240gsm can be used for a heavier duty bag, or a less slouchy one.

·       LIGHTWEIGHT WOVEN INTERFACING 120gsm – 1/2 yard/meter x 58” wide Pellon SF101 (or equivalent 120gsm: EBfuse, STIFI, etc.). If using Cotton Woven or Canvas for the Lining.

TIP: Raw edge materials (Cork or Vinyl) and Waterproof Fabric do not need interfacing.

·       OPTIONAL: FUSIBLE FLEECE – 1 yard/meter x 20” wide, for a full set of 4 - If using Woven, Quilting Cotton, or Canvas for Exterior.

·       WEBBING - 23” (58.4 cm) length of 1” (2.5 cm) wide Webbing, per Pouch.

·       D-RINGS/TRIANGLE RING – 1” (2.5 cm) D-Ring/Triangle Ring

·       LOBSTER CLASP - 1” (2.5 cm) Lobster Clasps

·       ZIPPERS – Total 37” (94 cm) length of #5 Zipper Tape and 4 x #5 Zipper Pulls, for a full set.

·       OPTIONAL: SPIKES/RIVETS – Decorative bag bling to make your Wolfsbane Zipper Pouch POP!

·       MATCHING NYLON OR POLYESTER THREAD, like Gutermann Mara 70 or Topstitching thread. Use what is suitable for your sewing machine and your project.

The Wolfsbane Zipper Pouch Pattern is drafted for use with domestic sewing machines. I have a Pfaff Quilt Expressions 710 and Pfaff Quilt Expression 3.5. I try to make things that don’t need an industrial machine, even though I have an industrial Juki-DDL 8100 eH/x. Please do not post full pictures of the pattern pieces on social media.        

The pattern has both pictures and diagrams/illustrations. There are detailed instructions for every technique, along with “TIPS” and plenty of photos.
